About the team 's Application Security team protects the world's largest travel platform against attacks targeting our application stack. The team develops and maintains signals, tools and infrastructure used to secure products and defines secure coding practices for all developers. We work with product and engineering teams to ensure customer data remains safe through secure-by-design software architecture.

Role Description

As an Application Security Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the security and privacy of customers. You will build and operate advanced security tooling, automate remediation, analyze security indicators, and partner with product teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will contribute to the detection, prevention and response to application security threats across 's global platform.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and application security guidance for new products and technologies used at
  • Develop, configure, and implement software related to security controls that protect against potential threats
  • Build software tools and services for automated security response and remediation
  • Develop standards, methodologies, procedures, and documentation for 's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Conduct application security assessments and source code reviews
  • Analyze, assess, and respond to application security threats and incidents
  • Partner closely with product and engineering teams to improve security architecture and practices
Role Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong coding experience for tooling development and security code reviews
  • Bonus: Java, Perl, JavaScript, Python, or Go
  • Extensive knowledge of web application security and/or mobile security
  • Experience analyzing large-scale data sets
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle with emphasis on security integration (SAST, DAST, threat modeling, security testing)
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and commitment to shared success
