Environmental Test Engineer
Working Pattern: On-site, 5 days per week
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
The Opportunity
My Client is offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a UKAS / ISO 17025 accredited environmental test laboratory, supporting a wide range of projects across our entire product portfolio.
As part of the Environmental Engineering & Facilities team, you ll test the company's products under real-world extreme conditions including temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration helping to ensure our systems are safe, robust, and fit for service.
You ll work within a multi-disciplinary team, solving complex engineering problems and contributing to both design verification and in-service surveillance activities.
What they need you to do.
Plan and execute environmental tests against customer requirements
Simulate extreme operational environments using specialist test equipment
Analyse data, review documentation, and produce test reports
Support technical reviews with customers and partners
Apply standards such as DEF STAN, MIL-STD-810, STANAG, and AECTP
(Occasional travel to Henlow required)
What they are looking for.
HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline
Strong understanding of mechanical structures and analysis
Hands-on experience with instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges)
Methodical, safety-conscious, and self-motivated approach
Desirable:
Experience with vibration control systems (e.g. LMS), project delivery, or driving technical improvements
