About the Role:

My client is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their Cloud Services team on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting mission-critical backup and recovery operations across a large enterprise IT estate.

You'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of the organisation's infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and scalable. This role will suit someone with strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology-driven improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for backup and recovery services within My client's IT infrastructure.
• Maintain, document, and follow operational procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support as required.
• Conduct technical peer reviews and ensure compliance with quality and security standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues through performance and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure components aligned with architectural best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive operational excellence and reliability.

Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of Backup and Recovery principles.
• In-depth experience with Networker Backup products.
• Working knowledge of backup targets (e.g. Data Domain, tape storage).
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Proven track record in problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting large-scale IT environments or enterprise systems.
