Location:

Primarily remote (occasional travel to London - approximately twice per month, with additional visits initially to familiarise with the project)

Contract Type:

Inside IR35 - 6-month initial contract (with potential for extension)

Project Overview:

This role will support a high-profile engineering and technology programme by ensuring all project documentation is properly managed, controlled, and distributed in line with project standards and governance requirements.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller/CADM Specialist to take full ownership of document management for a complex, multi-stakeholder project. This position is 100% document control, with a focus on maintaining the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of all project documentation using SharePoint and associated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all incoming and outgoing project documentation through SharePoint and other platforms.

  • Implement and maintain document control procedures across the project team and suppliers.

  • Maintain document registers, version control, and distribution matrices.

  • Ensure consistent use of document numbering, naming conventions, and metadata.

  • Control revisions and ensure that current versions are always accessible to authorised users.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers to ensure documentation standards are upheld.

  • Provide guidance and training to project personnel on document management best practices.

  • Generate and distribute document status reports and dashboards for project leadership.

  • Support audits and compliance reviews by ensuring documentation is current and properly archived.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in Document Control/CADM roles on complex engineering or technology projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint document management systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a methodical approach.

  • Proficient in document numbering, revision control, and metadata management.

  • Effective communicator, comfortable coordinating with dispersed and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience working within regulated or high-compliance environments (eg aerospace, defence, telecoms, or infrastructure projects).

Desirable:

  • Experience with large engineering or technology programmes.

  • Familiarity with CAD document management and file control.

  • Knowledge of other DMS tools in addition to SharePoint.

  • Travel: London twice per month (more frequent initially for onboarding).

  • IR35: Inside IR35.

  • Duration: 6 months initial (potential to extend).

  • Start Date: Immediate/ASAP.
