Senior ISP IT Security (ref )

The role:

We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior IT Security Specialist to lead the development and implementation of robust, modern, and innovative cyber security practices within a complex ISP environment. This is a senior-level role requiring strategic vision, technical expertise, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain the organisation's IT Security Strategy and governance framework.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, legislation, and regulatory obligations (eg, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
• Provide strategic security leadership and assurance across IT systems, infrastructure, and digital initiatives.
• Oversee security risk management, audits, and incident response to maintain resilience and compliance.
• Review and approve technical designs and architectures to ensure robust security controls.
• Lead and promote a security-aware culture through training, communication, and engagement.
• Act as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on cybersecurity matters.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in security practices, tooling, and governance.

What the client is looking for:

• Proven experience developing and leading cybersecurity strategy and governance aligned with organisational goals and regulation.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, NCSC, Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
• Deep technical understanding of cloud, network, and identity security, with ability to review and assure complex solution designs.
• Demonstrated success managing security assurance, risk, and compliance programmes, including audits and certifications.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience advising senior management and influencing culture.
• Track record of leading incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in security practices, tools, and automation.
