IT Support Technician (1st Line)

IT Managed Services Provider - Reading (onsite 5-days a week)

Salary: up to £30K (DOE)

Established for over 15 years, our client is a well-regarded MSP based in Reading, providing IT and Telecoms support to over 300 businesses across the South East. They specialise in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Virtualisation, and Cloud Migrations, and are known for their friendly, customer-focused approach.

Position Overview:

The IT Support Technician will be part of a growing technical team, delivering high-quality 1st Line support to a diverse client base. This role is ideal for someone with solid troubleshooting skills, a passion for customer service, and a desire to grow within a dynamic MSP environment.

Key Skills required:

• Prior experience in an IT Service Desk role (MSP Experience is preferred)
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, file/print services
• Microsoft 365 setup, support, and administration (including Exchange and SharePoint)
• Familiarity with service desk ticketing systems
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
• Full UK Drivers licence - required

Desirable Skills:

• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and cloud migration projects
• Knowledge of backup solutions (e.g., Acronis)
• Experience with email migration tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to customer calls and support tickets, resolving issues within SLA
• Provide remote and occasional on-site support for installations and fault resolution
• Maintain clear communication with clients regarding ticket progress
• Escalate critical issues appropriately and liaise with suppliers when needed
• Assist with provisioning and configuring new services
