QA Lead (Tester)

Location: Home-based - Remote - Applicants must be based within the UKDuration: Contract until 31 st December 2025 - Expected extensionRate: £400 - £450 Inside IR35

We're on the lookout for a skilled and detail-driven QA Lead (Tester) to play a vital role in ensuring our software developments are reliable, robust, and aligned with business needs. This is your chance to make a real impact, supporting both our development team and business users while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement detailed test plans and scripts to guarantee high-quality software.
  • Execute and manage testing cycles, logging and tracking defects through to resolution.
  • Support business users in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), guiding them through criteria setting and execution.
  • Demonstrate new developments to end-users and secure approvals for production release.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to deliver reliable, efficient solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement, driving better testing strategies and practices across the team.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven QA/testing experience in a similar role.
  • Strong background in designing, developing, and executing test scripts and test plans.
  • Skilled in UAT, negative testing, and automation (Playwright preferred).
  • Experience with MySQL/MSSQL, Windows/Linux/OSX, and Web/Mobile apps.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Agile/Scrum, and REST API testing with Postman.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Computing or related field.
  • ISEB Certificate in Software Testing.
  • Experience with X-Ray for Jira.
