About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Security Solutions Architect to join our architecture capability. This role involves shaping secure system design across complex, high-risk government and enterprise environments. You will set vision and strategy, lead technical assurance, and provide thought leadership in innovative security approaches.

As a senior leader, you'll influence design at the program level, mentor teams, and engage with senior stakeholders to guide risk-based, proportionate security decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Architecture Leadership

    • Lead the design of secure systems and services across major programs.

    • Develop and communicate a security vision, principles, and strategy .

    • Drive adoption of secure design patterns across services.

  • Governance & Assurance

    • Lead assurance activities ensuring compliance with security requirements.

    • Monitor and review technical solutions to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and improvements .

    • Support risk-based decision making, balancing business and security needs.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

    • Translate complex risk and security concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Act as a senior advisor to boards, executives, and departmental leads.

    • Build alignment across departments and suppliers.

  • Research, Innovation & Knowledge Sharing

    • Track emerging technologies and propose innovative, secure applications.

    • Actively contribute to the UK government and wider security community .

    • Mentor junior architects and engineers, building organizational capability.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Analysis (Practitioner): Monitor, review, and interpret technical solutions; identify areas for change and ensure analysis is shared across teams.

  • Communication (Practitioner): Explain complex security concepts clearly and adapt communication style to achieve consensus.

  • Designing Secure Systems (Practitioner): Create and review architectures, ensuring consistent application of secure design patterns.

  • Risk-Based Decision Making (Practitioner): Advise on and support proportionate responses to complex security risks.

  • Research & Innovation (Practitioner): Recommend and design emerging technologies for organizational adoption.

  • Security Technology (Expert): Lead on technical security; explain complex architectures, identify vulnerabilities, and guide secure implementation.

  • Transformation Security (Practitioner): Interpret political, business, and legal contexts to ensure secure transformation delivery.

Where You'll Work

Your working time will be split between:

  • HQ & hub locations

  • Client sites (as required)

  • Remote/home-based working
