Employer Description: Differentology is a new breed research company, using technology to gain insights. We have an enviable client list (including Samsung, The Times, BSkyB and Santander to name a few). Overview: We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. You will join a small team of experienced professionals who have built up a reputation for delivering some of the most high profile and innovative projects in media. You will be responsible for the analysis of quantitative survey data, investigating the effectiveness of specific client advertising campaigns. A key part of the job role involves ensuring that returned data is properly processed and analysed, and compiling data outputs into reports on a regular basis. Duties: Scripting: The data technician will be involved in converting Word questionnaires into on-line surveys. The software used, Askia, allows a great deal of this through a simple visual interface, although there is some requirement for basic HTML and learning Askia's own scripting language. Fieldwork management: The data technician will work with external companies to channel respondents into surveys and help ensure that quotas are filled, and the appropriate number of responses are collected Data cleanse: Once a survey is complete the data technician will be responsible for reviewing the data and applying our quality control tests, identifying and removing responses which do not meet the required standard. Post-coding: In cases where an open (free text) question has been asked the technician will need to code those responses into a closed question (a list of brands, for example), to allow for quantitative reporting.
