Job Description

This position will be a developer for the London based Charles River engineering team. The scope of the work will be to code and support Front Office applications in and around the Charles River OMS mainly using C# .net and AWS cloud services.

We are looking for an experienced hands on C#.net developer who has preferably worked with AWS cloud computing. The incumbent must have a strong architectural and design background and have a proven track record building and delivering solutions using the latest tools and design principles. We are looking for developers to drive best of breed coding practices and will give the opportunity to work on micro services and the new AWS. implementations. Knowledge of working in and around Charles River is a real benefit and experience of working in Front Office technology is a must.

The incumbent will work with the London CRD team under the supervision of the CRD Engineering manager but will also work closely with the CRD development teams in Baltimore. The incumbent must show a self-starter attitude and exhibit expert communication and presentation skills.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Delivery of FX modernisation project in CRD
  • Delivery of new AWS and micro services for data distribution out of CRD
  • Accomplished at presenting and delivering to senior stakeholders
  • Working closely with London trading and portfolio management business
  • Delivering best practice solutions for all development efforts
  • 3rd line CRD development support during UK business hours
  • Working closely with Baltimore and London based BA teams

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for all parts of the software development life cycle for their projects
  • Contributes to the development of best practices within their group
  • Leads code reviews and actively participates in providing feedback on others' designs/code
  • Accountable for technical debt in their own software
  • Capable of leading a small team of developers for a specific projects

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role supporting a Front Office team
  • Experience of Charles River
  • Strong background in C# .net and AWS
