As a Pricing Test Analyst, you will be responsible for setting appropriate pricing rates within the Home and Motor Insurance function, ensuring any system changes do not adversely impact pricing and are accurate and fair.
You will have the opportunity to join a small sub function of the Insurance Pricing Team where our primary aim is to ensure all systems that touch on the pricing process are rigorously tested and monitored for Pricing anomalies. Being a varied role, you'll have exposure to analysing data, creating queries, writing code, testing software, gathering requirements and investigating pricing anomalies. No day will look the same and working closely with the immediate team, you will be involved in the development of pricing models and data preparation, utilising relevant statistical and analytical techniques to transform our business.
This is an exciting role that involves delivery of pricing related projects, including data collection from our Breakdown product and Aggregators to assist in new model builds. What will I be doing?
Support the testing and deployment of new rating in conjunction with IT and change teams
Assist the Pricing Manager in managing implementation such as model deployment and price testing
Developing robust data sets to ensure data adequacy and accuracy, including working with the Financial Analysts to support the life-time value models.
Work with the wider pricing team in order to improve and document testing processes so that the wider pricing team can conduct accurate, timely testing
Liaise with IT and developer teams to understand the impact of changes and ensure they meet with the needs of the pricing team and are delivered in a timely fashion
Enhance your understanding of technical pricing by supporting projects within the team that develop your coding, pricing and modelling skills
Run regular reporting to support the understanding of customer behaviour and outcomes. Deliver updates to the business verbally and in written communication to support strong decision making that improves the prices we provide in meeting business objectives
What do I need?
We are looking for someone with:
Proven skills in a programming language (ideally, Python, SQL, VBA, SAS, R)
Well-developed problem-solving skills and extensive analytical experience with evidence of appropriate analytical techniques
Experience of using Excel for calculations and
Experience in highly, logical thinking and the ability to communicate complex findings
Education to degree level in a subject with a high mathematical and statistical content (desirable)
