Data Engineer

Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Junior - Mid level Data Engineer to join an exciting new project with a long established and successfully financial company. You will be working with a small team of skilled data engineers to build a brand-new cloud-based platform using Azure and Snowflake. This is an exciting opportunity for a data engineer to learning new skills in snowflake and azure. You will be part of a new green field platform were your knowledge and ideas will influence the development of the project.Responsibilities:

• Use a range of modelling techniques and technical skills to solve data engineering tasks that areas in the brand-new cloud platform
• Support the translation of data into valuable insights that inform decisions, alongside resources from architecture, governance, analytics and business product owner communities
• Working with the Platform Lead and Lead Data Engineer to develop the technical vision for our data platform, and supporting the development of an effective and fully functioning DataOps capability
• Idea generation, you will have the chance to influence the direction of this brand-new cloud platform (excellent learning opportunity)

Core Skills:

• Strong SQL experience
• Strong python experience
• Experience working with ETL pipelines
• Experience working with R
• Some experience with data reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau or Looker)

Desirable Skills:

• Any previous experience working within a cloud-based environment (Azure, snowflake, AWS, GCP or IBM)
