We are currently looking for a Head of Production to join our National Mapping Services team. At OS, we believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £73,695 - £86,700 per annum.

About theHead of Productionrole:

The Head of Production will be a key member of the National Mapping Services (NMS) Business Unit senior leadership team. You will be a visible role model & advocate for OS leadership behaviours and values. You will be leading the development of the NMS Production strategy ensuring alignment with the NMS strategy where you will play a strategic role in leading the Field Surveying Services, Remote Sensing Surveying, Cartography & Data enhancement teams ensuring continuous development of the team's capability for success now and in the future. You will be directly responsible for a significant portion of OS' overall workforce and it's important you actively encourage, and role model a customer-focused and collaborative culture.

As this role evolves you could see growth opportunities to really develop OS' overall production environment and it's important you have skills that you can leverage to potentially drive this activity in the future.

In this critical role, you will be implementing rigorous operational routines, processes and continuous improvement tools as well as proactively seeking out opportunities to bring to life customer insight and feedback for production teams.

It is vital the teams can respond with agility & pace to planned & unplanned requests, so you will need to bring thought leadership and have a focus on monitoring future production trends to inform investment opportunities for Ordnance Survey.

What we're looking for in our Head of Production:

You will be restless in driving continuous improvement and change for yourself, teams and business and you will be someone who has experience of leading and developing capability across multi-disciplined teams whilst being able to embrace change and transformation. We're also looking for someone with:

  • Experience of geospatial data collection and processing techniques
  • Strong experience of implementing continuous improvement techniques and driving change
  • Strong experience of end-to-end production or operational processes and achievement of efficiency/delivery targets
  • Demonstrable experience in leading large teams or functions and creating an environment where people can be at their best
