Head of Software Engineering
Bristol/Hybrid Remote
£70,000 - £80,000

We're excited about this one! At SR2 it's in our DNA to work with companies who are 'doing good', and these folks certainly tick that box.

They're a small, independent creative software company who use their technology to really help their client's organisations. They work with several not-for-profit businesses, educational institutions, tech 4 good companies, basically a whole bunch of awesome companies who are positively impacting our society and world. Lovely!

The business has had a hugely successful time with a very busy pipeline of work coming in, and the time has come to grow their engineering team. There current Head of Development is moving into a slightly different role in the product team and therefore leaves a gap for a new Head of Software Engineering to join the squad!
You will be responsible for 3 key areas.

  • Product Development
  • Development processes & tools
  • Project Level quality.


You will provide hands on management and leadership to the software engineering team and you should have a passion and visionary approach to technology. You will report directly to the CEO and working as part of an established ambitious team of software developers.

Your experience:

  • A background in a software development environment with a significant portion of that experience being focused on web-based solutions using .NET C# and ASP.NET MVC.
  • An understanding of architecting highly innovative solutions from scratch and if required could easily build them because of your expertise in software development.
  • Experience with hands on leadership, mentoring and support to the software engineers within the team and new ones we hire throughout 2022!


We're looking for someone who is an experienced line manager who thrives off getting the best from their team, taking pleasure in helping them expand their skills, providing them with guidance and mentoring and be a friendly, approachable facilitator and problem solver. Presenting a calm, can do, positive attitude to the engineering team and wider business.
