Ordnance Survey are currently looking for a Strategic Development Manager (Environment) to join our team. At OS, we believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £45,951 - £51,357 per annum.

About therole:

You will be part of our Government Relationships Team who, by representing and collaborating with the customer, play a key role in delivering the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement (PSGA).

We are focusing now on how we can go further to ensure we are fit and ready to support some of the major challenges that Britain will face in the future and need someone to come and join us as a Strategic Development Manager (Environment) to take the lead on our strategic engagement across the environment sector.

Our aim is to delight the customer and continually drive improvements in the data and service we provide for them. With support from our Relationship Managers, you will develop customer-led propositions with key policy and delivery departments in this sector (for example the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs). You will proactively build external networks to drive customer engagement and stay ahead of emerging government policy initiatives in the environment sector. You will become a specialist in your field and feed insights back into the business so that we can align our strategies and product developments. In addition, you will need to build and maintain a robust internal network, up to and including director level, in order to gain buy-in and progress new initiatives.

With the support of a multi-skilled internal technical team, you will champion and represent OS and 'geospatial' as a technology in all your engagements across the environment sector. You'll develop on our established relationships in order to deliver more value and deliver sector-specific commitments to support the successful delivery of the PSGA.

What we're looking for in our Strategic Development Manager (Environment):

  • Clear examples of senior strategic account leadership and/or strategic development with associated outcomes
  • Experience and knowledge of environment programmes/policy
  • Building networks and new relationship development
  • Identifying and leading new customer-led initiatives
  • Monitoring and exploiting new market trends
  • The ability and gravitas to build and maintain excellent working relationships and manage senior stakeholders
  • UK Driving licence and available to travel as required
