IT Systems Engineer - Manchester - £400 per day - 6 month contract

My client is a British multinational private security company.The company offers a range of services, including the supply of security personnel, monitoring equipment, response units and secure prisoner transportation.

Your new role
You will be working in the role of IT systems engineer, based in Manchester. The role will pay £400 per day and will incorporate a hybrid working policy where the candidate will be required to work 3 days in the office and 2 days per week working from home. This is a 6 month contract initially with possibility of extension. To provide technical expertise on IT infrastructure projects within the Electronic Monitoring Managed Service. Project areas include; AWS Cloud, Windows server build standardisation and automated build, Windows server automated configuration, VMWare upgrade and migration ESX 5.x, 6.x, Application migration, Legacy system refresh and Automated application installation.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will need at least 4 years' experience working in a 3rd line technical project delivery role as well as;

• Experience configuring and supporting;
• AWS Cloud
• Scripting and Automation
• MS Windows Server 2000 to 2019
• MS Active Directory
• VMWare ESX 5.5 and later
• Infrastructure automation (Terraform/Packer/Ansible)
• Powershell scripting
• Unattended application installation
• Automated Windows/Application configuration
• IT Security standards
• Enterprise AntiVirus systems
• Infrastructure management toolsets
• Good understanding of data networking, LAN/WAN & TCP/IP environment
• Good security skills
• Good communication and planning skills

What you'll get in return
You will work for a large private sector security company which offers a wide range of services. You will be on a 6 month contract, paying £400 per day with hybrid working, where the candidate will be required to work 3 days in the office in Manchester and 2 days per week working from home. This is a 6 month contract initially with possibility of extension.
