We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work with us on the network infrastructure design and delivery for innovative new digital workplace technology, helping to foster team collaborations and empower more effective flexible working for our 111,000 DWP users.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you'll be leading a team of infrastructure engineers, coaching and supporting them through the development and delivery of network infrastructure design of a world-class digital workplace technology that encourages greater collaboration and supports flexible working for over 111,000 DWP users.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

• Designs, implements, administers and supports Network technologies, solutions and services such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructures, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including PaaS, SaaS.
• Ensures that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate Network problems. Takes accountability of issues that occur and is proactive in searching for potential problems.
• Able to dissect a Network problem to its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes.
• Has a deep understanding of the Network technical concepts required in their role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape. Understands the limitations of digital technology.
• Inspires and motivates teams to be fully engaged in their work and dedicated to their role. Stand by, promote or defend own and team's actions and decisions where needed.
• Deliver a high quality, efficient and cost effective service by considering a broad range of methods for delivery. Creating regular opportunities for colleagues, stakeholders, delivery partners and customers to help improve the quality of service.
