In light of COVID-19, we are following government guidelines on travel and working arrangements.
Around 102 million passenger journeys are made each year in South Yorkshire by bus, tram, train and Tram Train.
Working closely with operators, local councils and other key stakeholders we develop and deliver an integrated public transport network that connects people and places across South Yorkshire, whether they are travelling for work or leisure.
We take a coordinating role, with oversight of the whole public transport network, to ensure different modes of transport work together to serve every community in the region.
Though we do not run any transport services directly, we subsidise socially necessary local bus services that cannot be provided commercially. We own the tram network and work in partnership with Stagecoach to improve and maintain this valuable asset.
We also provide travel information across the region, manage the funding and administration of all concessionary fares, provide and maintain vital transport infrastructure like bus stops and shelters and operate a network of interchanges throughout the region.
