Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit a Service Designer for an initial 4 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £282.39/day (Inside IR35). This role will be predominantly remote with some travel to offices in Cardiff. Responsibilities: - Act as an expert and advocate for best practice, coaching and mentoring teams. - Advise and coordinate staff, deliver training, and share knowledge. - Identify and resolve team issues, foster collaboration, and create a positive working environment. - Lead complex service design activities and implement new ways of working. - Design services and components to meet business needs and user requirements. - Prioritise user stories, evaluate design options, and manage risk. - Apply Agile principles and tools effectively. - Document work using standard methods and tools, including prototypes. - Contribute to user experience design and iterate design patterns. - Challenge constraints, adapt processes, and champion user research. - Generate and test multiple solutions, implement policies, and align with best practice. - Communicate complex and sensitive information clearly across teams and stakeholders. - Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve disputes. - Facilitate collaboration, provide constructive feedback, and represent user needs internally. - Recommend tools and methods, adapt to technological changes. - Use prototyping techniques and basic HTML skills. - Ensure safe use of equipment and value for money. - Contribute to budgeting and financial planning. Essential Skills: - Educated to post-graduate level (or equivalent qualification/experience in an associated professional field) - Practical experience, working at this level, across the range of work procedures and practices. - Evidence of continuous professional development. - Experience of working in a similar role as a confident and competent designer, developing designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes. - Experience of interpreting evidence-based research and incorporating this into your work. - Experience of meeting performance targets and coaching and mentoring others to improve performance. - Familiar with graphical human/computer interfaces that facilitate effective communication between human operator and computer. - Aware of applying relevant standards, practices, codes, and assessment and certification programmes to the specific organisation or business domain. - Familiar with iterative methods and techniques to allocate and optimise the division of functions between the human, machine and organisational elements of IT systems, and the functions themselves in terms of ergonomic impact. - Familiar with systematic and iterative design of the physical and cognitive interfaces, to create an effective user experience in a software system, product or service, with attention paid to variety of locations and access devices employed by users. - Knowledge and understanding of the brand image and personality of the organisation's products and/or services and the overall culture and personality of the work environment. - Teamwork skills in working collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal. - Written and Verbal Expression Skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, such as reports and via emails. - Creativity skills in taking innovative approaches to problem solving and/or devising inventive and creative solutions. - Attention to detail skills to ensure accuracy and high-quality standards in given tasks, to ensure deliverables are accurate and complete. - Interacting with people skills in establishing relationships, contributing to an open culture and maintaining contacts with people from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines. Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Release and Implementation Manager for an initial 6 month contract - with the potential to extend - on a rate of up to £580/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be a hybrid of working at home and the office. Responsibilities: Manage the release life cycle and planning across the different technical platforms Manage relationships and coordinate releases between different delivery teams Develop and communicate key release plans, commitments and changes to these plans ie release/code freeze/feature freeze and code merge plans and activities Run relevant cross work stream stakeholder sessions to ensure joint planning and delivery alignment Measure and monitor progress of release plans, develop appropriate reporting and escalation processes at both technical and business ie ensuring technical work streams are aligned Operational Readiness: Work alongside the Release Management Group (RMG) to ensure all release artefacts are in place - ie business checkout/Resolver group are run outside of RMG Work alongside the business to define the day-of-launch approach and deliver the implementation into the business on go-live Work with the test team to ensure release scheduling is planned and coordinated across all areas - including environments development and configuration throughout the development life cycle. Design and deliver the release continuous improvement roadmap to optimise code development and testing ie more frequent releases, small and often, risk/reward based approach Co-ordination of multiple supplier release to develop a Change Release Note to identify and align all components of that release across multiple platforms Control and manage these release scopes through development and implementation of a common framework and process. Management of what releases will be deployed through the development life cycle into the appropriate environments Coordination and alignment of the environments to support the development, testing and deployment process Environment management - Assurance that the Environments are in place when and where required through coordination with technology area Act as a conduit between testing and technology to ensure both parties are fully aligned and processes are in place to ensure deployment, testing and remediation takes place effectively across all platforms. Due to the current circumstances these roles will be remote based for the foreseeable future.
