The Role As a Automation Test Engineer, you will join our Test team working on a significant customer transformation programme in the water/utility sector. The programme involves digitalising core customer systems including CIS, billing platforms, and customer-facing digital channels. With quality assurance central to its success. What you'll be doing Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript for end-to-end, regression, and functional scenarios. Build reusable, modular test components; maintain and adapt existing regression suites as the application evolves, managing source control via Bitbucket. Automate end-to-end customer lifecycle journeys including account set-up, service transfers, billing runs, payment processing, and debt management. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines) for fast, reliable feedback; triage failures, maintain healthy regression suites, and prepare clear test/defect reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders; log and track defects in JIRA. Collaborate with developers, BA's, product owners, and architects to translate requirements into risk-based test scenarios; participate in Agile ceremonies; document frameworks and best practices; champion shift-left testing and quality culture across the programme.
