The role The IT Service Desk Analyst role is primarily a first line support-based function under the IT division of Operations and Support. This role comprises a walk-up desk, a telephone service and our online self-service portal. You will take part in maintaining, supporting, and developing the IT services that support the research and teaching in the school. This includes using the service support tool to document customer interactions and any work undertaken, and escalating requests and faults to other teams when necessary. Occasionally, the IT Service Desk Analyst may act as Service Desk Supervisor, overseeing the main IT Service Desk requests list, managing major calls, and providing updates to the Head of Operations and Support. Who we're looking for Hold a relevant degree in IT, and/or Professional IT qualifications, and/or substantial relevant IT experience. Good general IT skills, experience and knowledge, with some exposure or background in IT user account administration, software support, printing services, supporting laptops and other devices. Well developed communication skills and ability to explain complex information in a simple and concise manner. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed-term for 12 months. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 4 in the range £34,741 - £38,986 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. We are looking for a Research Fellow with skills and expertise in data science, statistics, and epidemiology to contribute to a multi-centre research programme that aims to develop a head-and-neck cancer risk stratification system that would make cancer referral pathways more efficient. The Research Fellow will be involved in analysing routinely collected linked datasets on patients referred to hospital with suspected head-and-neck cancer. This post will provide an excellent opportunity for someone who wants a career in "big data" research. The role requires strong skills and expertise in data science, statistics, and epidemiology. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree in one of these areas. Experience of working on large observational health care studies is helpful, but the job also suits someone with experience of analysing clinical trials. It is based at the Department of Health Services Research & Policy, an internationally recognised centre of expertise in methodologically focused cancer research. The role drives the security strategy to implement, deliver, track and manage performance metrics and methods to improve effectiveness to strengthen information security. It reports directly to the CIO and is a member of the ITS Senior Management Team. Responsibilities You will build effective relationships and achieve co-operation from academic and professional services staff external to IT Services, while working independently and thriving under pressure to achieve LSHTM objectives. You will develop, update and implement Information Security policies for the institution, and work alongside senior colleagues in IT Services and other staff such as the Data Protection Officer. The role is very hands on, requiring you to manage the SOC/MDR service, manage security incidents and their remediation, lead external and internal audits, and achieve compliance with external frameworks and partner organisations' requirements. Qualifications You hold relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience, and possess excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to develop strong working relationships and positively influence technical staff, academic staff and senior stakeholders in securing information.
