Infrastructure Engineer (VMware) - DV Cleared Farnborough (Onsite - 5 days per week) 600- 700 per day (Inside IR35) 6-Month Rolling Contract Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support BAU operations within a secure, high-assurance environment. This role requires strong VMware expertise and an active MOD DV clearance . You will be responsible for maintaining and optimising virtual infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across critical systems. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, and resource pools Design, deploy, and support vSAN hyper-converged storage solutions Configure and maintain HA/DRS to ensure resilient and highly available platforms Manage VMware networking, including: vSwitches and distributed switches VLANs, port groups, and segmentation Support and maintain VMware Horizon VDI environments (desirable) Develop and maintain automation using PowerCLI , templates, and provisioning workflows Monitor and optimise system performance: Troubleshoot host and VM issues Analyse logs and tune workloads Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions: Tools such as Veeam, SRM, or Zerto Apply security hardening practices: VMware baselines Role-based access control Compliance standards Key Skills & Experience Essential: Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) Proven experience with vSAN deployments and support Deep understanding of HA/DRS configurations Solid knowledge of VMware networking concepts Experience with PowerCLI scripting and automation Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Experience integrating backup and DR solutions Active MOD DV clearance Desirable: Experience with VMware Horizon (VDI) Exposure to secure or defence environments Additional Information Must be eligible to work onsite in Farnborough 5 days per week Work is conducted in a highly secure environment Immediate start preferred
