Software Developer - Ruby on Rails Office Hybrid Remote (within 2 hours of GMT) Scaling sports-tech SaaS We're hiring experienced Ruby on Rails developers to work directly with our CTO, shaping the architecture, the culture, and the future of engineering at TeamFeePay. Every week, thousands of sports club's wrestle with spreadsheets, bank transfers, and chasing payments. We're ending that. TeamFeePay is building the platform that lets clubs of any size - from a grassroots youth football club to a multi team rugby organisation - manage memberships and payments without the headache. We're growing fast, clubs worldwide are coming on board, and we need engineers who want to build something that matters. Company Purpose To help communities build sustainable grassroots football clubs by revolutionising club management, finance, governance, safeguarding and communication. We build people first technology that reduces admin, builds trust, and supports clubs to thrive - not just survive. What You'd Actually Be Working On To give you a real sense of the work: most of our clubs are run by volunteers - parents and coaches giving up their evenings and weekends. We've built a system that lets a club treasurer set up payment collection for hundreds of families across multiple age groups in minutes, replacing what used to be weeks of spreadsheets, WhatsApp messages, and awkward conversations at the sideline. That's the kind of problem you'd own here. Other things on the horizon include transforming our club onboarding into a streamlined self service experience, building smarter automation that takes even more admin off volunteers' plates, and rearchitecting core systems to handle rapid international growth. The Stack Rails (our core), Hotwire (Stimulus + Turbo), Heroku for existing infrastructure, Kamal + Hetzner for new deployments. PostgreSQL. We keep things modern and pragmatic - no legacy baggage for the sake of it. The Role Build and ship, end to end. You'll own features from concept through to production - designing, coding, and deploying clean, maintainable Rails code that delivers real value to clubs and their members. Scale a platform under real pressure. As more clubs join globally, you'll solve the hard problems: performance at scale, data integrity, robust payment processing, and keeping everything rock solid as traffic grows. Shape the technical direction. This isn't a ticket factory. You'll contribute to architectural decisions, influence our tech stack, and set the engineering standards that future hires will follow. Work with AI as a force multiplier - seriously. This isn't a line we put in the job ad because it's trendy. We expect our developers to use AI tools as a core part of how they work, and we'll ask you about it. Specifically, we're looking for engineers who: Use agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar to plan, build, test, and ship features - not just autocomplete Can direct AI agents through multi step workflows: breaking down requirements, generating code, writing and running tests, debugging, and iterating to production ready output Leverage AI for code reviews, refactoring, test generation, and exploring architectural trade offs Think critically about AI output - you know when to trust it, when to push back, and when to take a different approach entirely Are excited about building internal tooling and workflows that make AI assisted development even more effective across the team As part of our process, we'll ask you to walk us through how you'd use AI tools to ship a feature end to end. We want to see your thinking, not just your prompts. Raise the bar for the team. Mentor junior developers, champion best practices, and help us build an engineering culture rooted in continuous learning and pragmatic excellence. What we're looking for At least 2 years building and maintaining large scale Rails applications and SaaS products 2+ years of web application development experience Demonstrated, hands on experience using AI coding tools in your daily workflow - we're looking for people who've moved beyond experimentation into genuine productivity gains Strong problem solving instincts and the ability to navigate ambiguity Clear, effective communication - you can explain technical trade offs to both engineers and non technical stakeholders Self motivated, ownership driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a remote team Nice to haves: Experience with Hotwire, Stimulus, and Turbo Familiarity with payment processing systems (Stripe, Adyen, GoCardless, or similar) Experience with deployment tooling like Kamal, Docker, or Heroku pipelines Background in building multi tenant SaaS platforms Interest in sports (not required, but you'll find yourself caring about club management more than you expected) Why TeamFeePay Flexibility that's real, not performative. Choose from office, hybrid, fully remote, 4 day weeks, or reduced hours. We trust you to do great work on your terms. Competitive, negotiable salary that reflects your experience and what you bring to the table. Outsized impact. At a scaling startup, every decision you make ripples across the product. You won't be a cog - you'll be one of the people who defines how this platform evolves. Global reach. Your code powers clubs around the world. That's not a marketing line - you'll see it in the data, the feedback, and the communities that rely on what you build. Important: This role has remote options, but to keep collaboration smooth, you must reside within 2 hours of GMT. Ready to build something clubs actually love using? Apply now.

Full time
Software Developer - Ruby on Rails Office Hybrid Remote (within 2 hours of GMT) Scaling sports-tech SaaS We're hiring experienced Ruby on Rails developers to work directly with our CTO, shaping the architecture, the culture, and the future of engineering at TeamFeePay. Alto Software Group is a B2B SaaS company that powers more than half of all UK housing transactions each year. We create software solutions that connect businesses and consumers, delivering a one-stop shop for estate agents and home builders. Our goal is to drive efficiency, speed up transactions, reduce risk, and improve the end-customer experience. While we're not a startup, we operate with a startup mindset. We're looking for people who share this mentality and are ready to tackle big ambitions. This is a fast-growing and exciting business going through significant change, and there's never been a better time to join us. We're looking for a passionate Data Platform Engineer to join the Alto Team. You'll help us scale the data lakehouse that powers analytics and AI across the business, build the infrastructure behind new data commercialisation products, and create the reusable building blocks that let our engineering teams move data around safely and quickly. What You'll Do Provide ongoing operational support and build new solutions for our data lakehouse and scale it out to serve internal analytics and AI use cases that boost productivity across the business. Build the infrastructure and business logic behind our new data commercialisation opportunities, partnering with product and commercial teams to turn data into revenue-generating products. Design and build the abstractions, blueprints and reusable templates that let service and analytics teams work with data safely and consistently, from ingestion through to storage and access. Play a key role in modernising our legacy monolithic SQL Server database - extracting data into our lakehouse and other parallel data stores, introducing data retention policies, and helping migrate to modern SQL frameworks and languages. Write ETL processes and contribute to data modelling for both internal analytics and external-facing data products, where the platform alone isn't enough. Take ownership of your work from design to deployment, either independently or as part of a collaborative team. Help shape our engineering practices and explore new ways of working to deliver value to our internal customers in a fast, predictable way. Our Technology Stack We believe in using the right tool for the job. Our current stack includes: Data Platform: Databricks, DBT, Fivetran Languages: Python, SQL Databases: SQL Server (legacy, being modernised), plus lakehouse storage on S3 Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EventBridge, Kinesis, Lambda, S3, EC2), Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) Streaming: Kafka Containers & Orchestration: ECS, Kubernetes Who We're Looking For A data or platform engineer with strong Python skills and a track record of building data infrastructure that other engineers and analysts depend on. Hands on experience with AWS and Terraform, and a comfort with infrastructure as code as the default way of working. Experience with a modern lakehouse or warehouse platform (Databricks ideally, or Snowflake/BigQuery), and with data ingestion and transformation tools (Fivetran/DBT). Familiarity with Kafka or similar streaming systems, and an interest in building the abstractions that make event driven data flows easy for other teams to adopt. Solid SQL skills and a good sense for data modelling, even if it isn't the main thing you do day to day. Awareness of container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes) and how data workloads run in production. A platform mindset - you enjoy building tools, templates and paved roads for other engineers as much as you enjoy shipping pipelines yourself. Our Behaviours: Explore Boldly: We value engineers who are eager to learn new technologies and stay current with industry trends. Bounce Back Stronger: A pragmatic problem solver who can navigate ambiguity and find simple solutions to complex challenges. Own It Together: A collaborative team member who is willing to share early stage work and both give and receive constructive feedback. Make It Happen: A person who takes pride in their delivery and is passionate about creating high quality software at pace. Know Our Customers: You're a platform engineer who is genuinely interested in your internal customers' perspective. You strive to understand the purpose of your work so you can deliver the most impactful solutions. Don't worry if you don't check every box! We're looking for passionate engineers who are excited to grow. If you have a solid foundation in data engineering and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Hybrid - 2 days per week in our London HQ for team collaboration Opportunities for career development and advancement within a growing organisation. We'll consider everyone who applies for this role in the same way, regardless of your ethnicity, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, neurodiversity status, family or parental status, or how long you've spent unemployed.

About Nuuri We're building the Rightmove for nurseries. Nuuri is a B2B2C platform that helps parents find, connect with, and enrol in nurseries - digitally, efficiently, and without the usual chaos. We work with some of the UK's largest nursery groups centralising enquiries, tour bookings and waiting lists into a single workflow, reducing inbound admin while improving enquiry quality and conversion. We were recognised in the Startups list by Sage and are shortlisted for Digital Startup of the Year 2026 by the UK Startup Awards - and we're just getting started. The Role We're looking for a hungry, hands on Software Engineer to join our small but mighty engineering team. You'll work closely with our CTO and Founding Engineer, shaping the direction of the product and technical roadmap. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit in meetings and wait for tickets - we want someone who can take ownership and ships, solves and constantly says "I might know a scrappy AI trick for that" and tries it. If you're excited by LLMs, obsessed with how search is evolving and love the idea of building tech that genuinely changes how families find childcare across the UK - you might be exactly who we're looking for. What You Will Be Doing Day-to-day development - pick up and ship features, fixes and improvements that keep the platform moving forward. AI & LLM integration - explore and implement AI tooling across the platform, from automating workflows to enhancing the parent and nursery experience. Search & discovery - help evolve how parents find nurseries on Nuuri, staying ahead of how search behaviour is changing with AI and zero-click results. Bug fixing & maintenance - own the day-to-day health of the codebase, resolving issues quickly and cleanly. Collaboration - work closely with the CTO and Founding Engineer to shape the product and technical roadmap - identifying and highlighting any blockers. Pair with the Junior Software Engineer to build their confidence and skills. Innovation - bring new ideas to the table, whether that's a smarter way to build a feature or an AI hack that saves hours of manual work. What We Are Looking For 2-4 years of hands on software engineering experience - startup or early stage experience a serious bonus. Genuinely AI curious - you follow what's happening with LLMs, you experiment in your own time and you think about how AI can be applied to real problems. A solid understanding of how search behaviour is evolving - from traditional SEO to AI driven discovery and what that means for platforms like Nuuri. A self starter who doesn't need to be managed - you take a ticket, you run with it and you come back with solutions not problems. Strong full stack or frontend development skills - comfortable across the core languages and frameworks we use day to day (Node 20+, Typescript, NextJS, PostgresSQL to name a few). A hacker mentality - you find creative, scrappy solutions and aren't precious about how you get there as long as it works and scales. SEO, data or analytics experience is a genuine bonus - if you understand how content and code intersect with search, even better. Genuinely excited by what Nuuri is building and hungry to be part of something at the very beginning. What You Can Expect £50-55k salary, competitive for Edinburgh and reviewed as we grow. Early stage EMI share options - get in early and share the success you build. Hybrid working - minimum 3 days in our Edinburgh office (it's a cool place to be). Work directly with our founding team - no layers, no politics, just real impact.
