Test Analyst
Our client is a leading provider of software solutions and IT consultancy to professional services firms. Due to rapid growth they now have an opportunity for a Test Analyst in their London office.
As part of the development team, the Test Analyst is responsible for quality assurance, as well as ultimately the formation and day-to-day activities of the Test and QA function. The role works across aspects of development, consultancy and support, also assuming the role of test lead within Agile projects. Additionally, the role is a key player in the delivery to market of products and client solutions.
THE ROLE
- Working alongside the development team, the Test Analyst is responsible for all aspects of QA and Testing, with a focus on quality, robustness to meet client and business requirements.
- Using the Agile methodology, the validation of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria within Product Backlogs
- Analyse business, functional and technical documentation in order to produce Test Plans, Test Case and Coverage Specifications
- To plan, design, build, execute and report test scenarios and scripts.
- To follow the agreed test execution, defect management and communication process.
- Engage closely with Solution Architects, Senior Business Analyst, onshore/offshore development teams and technical specialists where appropriate to expedite the resolution of high priority issues as quickly as possible.
- To identify and document defects and track them to closure in the defect management process.
- Ensuring relevant questions are asked in order to obtain clarity and to identify any inconsistencies in requirements
- Liaising with Clients, as well as Support, Consultancy and Training teams to verify or recreate reported issues or defects and to ensure their timely resolution. To feedback information on resolution to such teams to assist in skills transfer.
- Sharing of any expertise testing knowledge within the company.
- Review Testing practices and promote change where necessary
- Collaborate with or lead off-shore QA resources/teams on bespoke or product development projects
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- ISTQB or ISEB Certified (Foundation Level)
- Significant knowledge and experience of Industry-standard methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, ITIL or PRINCEII.
- Test experience within a .Net environment
- Documentation skills
- Knowledge of Change and Release Management functions
- Knowledge of Team Foundation Server or HP Quality Centre
- An understanding of relational database concepts and being able to write SQL queries is important, as well as practical experience of unit testing and continuous integration techniques
