Network Engineer

The selected candidate will be joining the companies UK office in Liverpool, well known for music, stunning architecture and a thriving multi-cultural ethnical heritage. You will be managing, supporting and developing existing networks and VoIP infrastructures for the UK group and European agencies. The role involves closely working with the business and IT department to help maintain a robust and reliable network infrastructure, as well as working as part of a team to implement new firewall and VoIP solutions to existing and new offices. Main Responsibilities: * Implementing new Cisco networks * Managing, supporting and developing existing networks * Implementing firewall hardware * Maintaining, modifying and troubleshooting Firewall policies to resolve support tickets * Providing the IT Helpdesk, the tools and knowledge to cover 1st line network issues Experience & Knowledge * Understanding of networking principles and WAN technology * Understanding of router configuration management * Knowledge of Cisco systems * Experience in a helpdesk/technical support environment * Ability to liaise and communicate confidently and professionally with customer representatives at all levels Technical Skills & Qualifications * IT degree/equivalent network experience is desirable * Good knowledge of Cisco systems * Knowledge of Checkpoint Firewall desirable * Experience of working with and managing VLANs * Good knowledge of Firewall configurations * Knowledge of Cisco VoIP systems desirable
