Job Description

Software Engineer Embedded C++ - Music Technology Audio Technology / Music Technology / Consumer Electronics Manchester Junior, mid-level and senior salaries available, plus benefits Multiple roles available for Embedded Software Developers to join a music technology company and work on ground-breaking products used by musicians, producers and DJs all over the world. There are spaces at all levels in this specialist team, with progression and development plans for both junior and senior designers – if you’re just starting out it’s somewhere that you can learn from other developers, and if you’ve got a decent amount of experience under your belt it’s a place where you can use all your knowledge and experience to bring your own ideas to the table rather than being told “do it this way”. The R&D department is seriously well funded, the team environment is really collaborative, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you’ll get the satisfaction of seeing your work in manufactured products. The work in this team is broad and varied so you’ll always find something interesting to get involved with; from low level C++ development, system design and specifying hardware to real-time programming and multi-threading. For that reason, the team are looking for other software engineers who have a range of skills and interests, so all of these areas are useful but you don’t need to be an expert in every single one… • C++ and object oriented design skills • Linux / real-time operating systems • Real time programming and multithreading • Building and configuring the Linux kernel and operating system (Yocto) • Bootloaders and board support packages • Bring up and debug of hardware and prototyping systems • Interfacing with low level protocols like I2C and SPI • Wired and wireless communication systems • GNU Toolchains (gcc, binutils, make, cmake) • Version control systems such as git • Interfacing with analogue and digital electronics / Audio Codecs / FPGAs • Agile development methodology • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • An interest in audio and music would be advantageous If this sounds like you, please apply and I will contact you with further details if you’re successful. If this isn’t quite the right role but you’re looking to work in music technology please contact me directly or via Twitter (NoiseyTess) to find out about other music jobs.
