Infrastructure Engineer / IT Engineer
Kier Workplace Services is one of the UK’s largest providers of outsourced professional and support services to local authorities and other public bodies, such as the police and fire and rescue services. We lead the eMBED Health Consortium to deliver services to NHS in Yorkshire and Humber. The consortium provides a range of commissioning support services including ICT, business intelligence, and procurement supporting the region’s CCGs. eMBED also delivers services to NHS England and other NHS organisations in the region, which includes the delivery of ICT services to the region’s GP practices.
We are looking to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer to work within the NOC Team based in Bradford. The infrastructure NOC Team support and maintain the server, communications, storage and data centre services for eMBED and its customers, enabling them to deliver services to their customers and patients. The NOC Team covers all Infrastructure Services delivered across the Yorkshire and Humber area to 18 CCGs and their underlaying GP Practices approx. 16,000 users with 2500 VDI users.
Key Responsibilities:
* The Infrastructure Engineer will work as a member of the NOC Team resolving incoming request and incident tickets for the wider Infrastructure Team
* Have initial involvement in all Major Incidents, assessing the scale of an event and through fault finding providing a resolution or timely escalation within the Infrastructure Service
* You will be responsible for routine maintenance and operational tasks such as patching the desktop and server environment or the configuration, monitoring and fault finding of backups
* Assistance in the delivery of internal projects towards service improvements, implementing new systems of working and associated technology to allow the efficiency of the department to be increased and the security improved
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Educated to Degree Level or have demonstrable relevant experience in IT support and development at appropriate level
* Experience in Microsoft Servers and PC Operating Systems
* Knowledge of VMware server and VDI
* Experience of technical issues relating to IM&T ideally gained in a healthcare environment
