Job Description
A global company is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to joins its expanding team based in Chelmsford. You will be joining a team who are broadly responsible for the reporting and analysis to support in decision-making.
The company offers trusted security advice, risk mitigation strategies, secure support and integrated solutions for strategic clients or those operating in complex or sensitive environments.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst your duties will include:
- Introducing various automated solutions for data cleansing, data quality and data transformation
- Integrating various open sources of data for seamless reporting and analysis
- Preparing and sharing various MI reports with key insights and visualisations to internal/external stakeholders through dashboard using Tableau/Power BI tool
- Automating various manual reports into SQL Server under SSRS targeting/ moving towards no manual reporting
- Identifying various open sources of data, constantly integrating open data sources for seamless automated MI reporting and constantly improving data quality
- Creating new metrics and KPIs effectively guiding the company and deploying effective dashboards to surface them to senior leadership/management
- Performing data analysis, hypothesis testing, bringing deep insights and building various predictive models in supporting decision making
- Providing informal direction and guidance to other team members on all aspects of analytics from context and prioritization to technical coaching
- Managing and administering an account-wide reporting infrastructure based on MS SQL Server Reporting Services and MS SQL Server Analysis Services
- Developing and constantly improving SSIS, SSAS and SSRS on a regular basis
- Analysing, developing and delivering a wide variety of reports (external, internal as well as ad-hoc queries)
- Developing and maintaining tools for automating ETL processes of large volumes of data from various sources
- Maintaining detailed in-depth knowledge of the data architecture and structure of the main software system(s)
- Performing data analysis using Tableau/ Power BI tool for various requirements on a regular basis
- Deploying technological solutions and automating manual tasks to optimise overall productivity and performance
To be a successful Business Intelligence Analyst you will have the following skills and experience:
- Have strong data visualisation skills together with experience of creating dashboards such as Tableau/ Power BI
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge and experience in relational database concepts, design, constraints, stored procedures, functions and optimization
- Strong command of SQL, for both Data Definition Language and Data Manipulation Language
- Commercial Tableau/Power BI experience in creating reporting dashboards and data visualisations
- Strong Data Analysis experience using SQL skills and Strong data manipulation and task automation skills
- Commercial experience in managing and working with large data sets
- Advanced Excel, Macros, VBA Skills
- Pro-active, self-driven, analytical and critical to use the power of analytics to solve large, unstructured problems, validate the hypothesis and challenge the status quo breaking tradition way of working
- Data Analysis experience using R/Python
- Introduction of Machine Learning based solutions
- Good understanding of Cloud environments like AWS, Azure and Google
- Collaborating experience within various teams/ departments for the day today data requirements and process understanding to automate and fix potential the gaps
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be required to work 40 hours per week.
