Hardware / Software Test Integration Engineer

Our client has a superb opportunity for an Electronics Design Engineer to progress their career into project / quality management. They are a key global player making products and systems for the Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) market which include both portable test equipment and complex systems for installation. This role is based in their new, state of the art offices and associated manufacturing areas, within South Yorkshire.
This new role will bring together the testing operations of the software team, the hardware team and the applications test team; it will include the introduction of new Standard Operating Procedures for incorporation throughout several areas of the business from concept of product, through product design and entry to production.
The role will include planning, designing, and evaluating test strategies, as well as collaborating with production management, hardware and software engineers. The engineer will also be responsible for test equipment design, maintenance, repair and calibration. As part of ISO9001 quality system, participation in audits and reviews of testing will be required, highlighting areas for improvement. Responsibilities also include designing and implementing test cases, documenting results and defects, together with testing and fault finding finished systems in accordance with company procedures.
Key skills include:
• Developing test and certification strategies and maintenance of detailed test plans for software and hardware requirements
• Compilation and execution of detailed test scripts
• Performing product verification and qualification testing to project schedules
• Documenting observations and problems revealed during testing and assist with the investigation and identification of solutions
Key qualifications include:
• BEng, HND, HNC level or equivalent in an IT/Engineering related discipline
• Previous experience in Systems Engineering
• Previous experience using automated test systems such as LabVIEW
• Requirements management experience and accompanying requirements management toolsets such as DOORS
Additional skills may include:
• Experience of TPMS products using UHF and LF
• Knowledge of computing systems and software engineering methods
• Experience with tools designed to automate testing
• Experience of Bluetooth connectivity
