Mid Market Sales Executive Role Description This role is for an energetic and enthusiastic Senior Sales Executive to join the expanding Custom Solutions Sales team. We are looking for a special person with a motivated "hunter" mentality that wants to excel against their goals and sell consultancy and software development services in a defined market. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate that they have a very strong entrepreneurial spirit and the determination to create their own success while having the support of sales management, pre-sales and marketing teams. As a part of Capita plc you will be working for one of the UK's largest and most successful professional services organisations. Job Purpose * The position will focus on identifying and creating fully qualified opportunities, developing solution blueprints and closing new business contracts for bespoke software solutions focussing on one, or two, specific key market sectors which will be identified during the interview process. * Additionally, as a 'sector expert' they will be responsible for providing the business with information regarding the key issues on an on-going basis as well as working with the Business Development team to ensure that marketing activity is properly focussed. * The position carries a full year initial sales target of approximately £1.25m gross margin. Qualifications While a Third Level Degree (BSc, BA, or BEng) with a focus on some form of computing discipline that demonstrates a strong academic background would be nice to have, this is not a mandatory requirement as the key attributes we require is the ability to prospect, innovate and create compelling business propositions Experience * A track record of exceeding sales quotas and delivering results, you should have a repository of happy customers who will vouch for you. * Extensive experience in the IT industry ideally with two thirds of their IT Career to date in a sales role * A clear a demonstrable understanding of the software development lifecycle, development methodologies, and framework technologies. * Experience in the following areas are not essential but will be advantageous: * Successful sales of bespoke software solutions/development frameworks into one or more sectors * Successful track record in winning Public Sector contracts * A detailed understanding of the chosen vertical market sector(s) * Previous experience in selling "Cloud", SAAS or managed services solutions * Closure of complex deals exceeding £250k including analysis, development, consultancy and PM services. * Managing complex sales processes across multiple opportunities Technical Skills * Establish and develop strategic C-level relationships with business and technology decision makers in targeted accounts that will include a large proportion of public sector organisations * Excellent communicator with effective presentation and influencing skills * The ability and judgement necessary to comprehensively qualify an opportunity * The skills to manage relationships strategically for maximum short and long term value * Experience in developing and providing high quality proposal and tender documentation * A high level knowledge of software development processes * Ability to analyse business processes to identify the issues and their associated sales opportunities Business and Behavioural Skills * Passion, commitment and track record to exceed sales targets * Self driven and able to work under pressure, with the ability to organise and prioritise responsibilities and the determination to work on your own initiative with minimum direction. * Proven Consultative Selling skills * Has a "presence" and displays confidence in front of senior management (both internal & external) * Needs to be able to work individually but also within a team which will include sales and non-sales personnel * Motivated and driven to succeed *Tips for applicants We would like to meet with people who show drive, determination and initiative - Don't just send in a generic CV - but take the time to refine your CV to show how your previous experience and skills can meet our requirements In addition we'd like to receive a considered cover letter that outlines some of your successes specifically detailing the role you played and it's impact Plus we'd also love to hear about what you do with IT outside of work What's in it for you?
