An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal DSP Engineer - Modem, based in Cambridgeshire, to join this world leading communications company. Due to continued growth they are seeking a Principal DSP Engineer - Modem to be involved in the design and development of new signal processing solutions for a range of radio modem platforms. This person will play a key role in the Engineering / R&D team with input into product strategy and architecture. The role requires a good understanding of wireless digital telecommunication systems and digital signal processors. Experience of Modem DSP software development for a released commercial product is essential. A relevant degree is also essential. Key responsibilities of Principal DSP Engineer - Modem - Quick ramp up on the existing Modem software architecture - Maintenance of the Modem software (problem analysis and resolution) - Technical Reviews - Fixed point DSP implementation using embedded C Essential skills and experience of Principal DSP Engineer - Modem: - Excellent knowledge of Digital Signal Processing concepts and Digital Signal Processors - Strong experience in Modem development on DSPs for Wireless Digital Communication Systems - Strong programming skills (Embedded C) - Developing product quality real-time embedded software for DSP - Strong problem solving skills - Experience in working with Integrated Development Environment - Experience in bringing up Modem platforms (from specification to realisation) Any experience within the mobile comms industry would be beneficial This is a great chance to join a great company who can offer the opportunity for career progression and personal development.
