Job Description

The role of Systems Engineer is to develop specifications for next generation wireless networks, produce standards, to formulate technical plans and strategies as to how they can work with third parties. The company's product line cover a wide technical range both in terms of system design and software development. The challenge is to find an approach to this which will allow, at a technical level, to participate across a broad range of areas. The technical capabilities are getting broader as they become involved in a wider range of markets. Responsibilities for the role of Systems Engineer will include: Development of requirement and technical specifications both for internal and standards purposes. An initial involvement in protocols and the scoping of the system, from devices through networks to network applications. Occasional direct participation in standards where necessary Interaction with technical people both internally and externally to capture requirements. System level problem solving leading to technical solutions. As the selected Systems Engineer you should possess the following technical skills and experience: In depth system level understanding of a wireless communications system in layer 1-3 Broad involvement with wireless systems development either on the device or network side Experience of developing and maintaining technical specifications Clear communicator and presenter both internally and externally verbally and in writing Evidence that you are able to see projects through to successful completion Qualified to degree level; (2.1) from a good University, in electronics, computer science or related subject The Client The client is a market leader in the development of IoT and M2M applications.
