Full time, 35 hours per week Fixed contract for 12 months, with the possibility of the role being extended at the end of the contract term Band D, Salary, £19k/22kper annum #depending on experience#, plus annual bonus #based on terms and conditions# Location, Euston, London Closing date: 14 September 2016 The Royal College of General Practitioners RCGP is the professional membership body for family doctors in the UK and abroad CGP is the largest of the medical Royal Colleges and the organisation is located across 30 different sites spread across the UK and Ireland.The College has over 51,000 members and obtains an income of approximately £35m with a workforce of 250. he College also has an International element and works with around 40 countries, with members based in various countries across the world. The overarching aim of the RCGP Enterprises trading company RCGPE is to generate income streams that will support the charitable purpose of the RCGP. The Colleges Charitable purpose is: - "To encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in general practice and for that purpose to take or join with others in taking and steps consistent with the charitable nature of that object which may assist towards the attainment of that object" As a separate legal entity, the activity of the trading company is governed by an elected board that delegates the day to day activity of the trading company to the Managing Director, Enterprises. As part of our Continuing Professional Development strategy, we deliver training and education via a popular and highly-regarded eLearning programme of updates, courses and resources with a rapidly growing user base and range of content. With this in mind, we are now looking to recruit one Junior Web Developer who will work closely under the guidance of the Senior Web Developer. The key responsibility will be to provide support for the development and maintenance of the RCGP Online Learning Environment and its supporting web-based tools. The successful candidate will be educated to HND or Degree level and desirably hold a recognised Web or software development related qualification/diploma. Previous recognised experience in maintaining websites is desirable but not essential. Ideally, we are looking for someone with the ability to develop PHP database MySQL driven applications and with proven experience in hand coding X/HTML and CSS to W3C guidelines. Candidates will possess excellent written, verbal communication, Microsoft Office skills and will have meticulous attention to detail.Candidates will have a high degree of self-motivation, proven time management skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.Also, they will have proven ability to develop sound working relationships with colleagues from a range of backgrounds and levels of seniority, have the willingness to learn new skills and work within a changing environment.
