IT Desk Top Support Engineer/Analyst

We are SCC - Specialist Computer Centres , Europe's leading IT services organisation providing computer support and break/fix maintenance services to many of the UK's largest commercial organisations and public sector bodies . Increasing demand for our business critical IT services has resulted in an exciting career opportunity for a talented IT Engineer to join us to cover customers in the Gloucester and South West region . The role : Attending customer sites to provide maintenance , repair and warranty support for IT hardware and software products and devices within our agreed contractual agreement . Covering our site based teams to provide additional resource and cover for staff absent through holiday , sickness or training . Some sites have cover from 07:00am up to 10:00pm and it is expected this role will be multi flexing in terms of times and sites covered, however this role is mostly normal hours of 9.00am to 5.30pm . Repair and maintain hardware - Servers, PC’s, Laptops, Printers and associated peripherals where required . Repair and maintain customer Software tickets across different clients using client systems where needed. Typical cover requirements may include Windows, Outlook, Active Directory, Lotus Notes and a variety of common software programs and platforms. Complete software incidents to customer/manufacturer procedures and specifications. Installation of hardware to manufacturers/customers specification. Utilise PDA to check and update allocated calls in a timely manner to achieve required service level agreements nd reflect actual work done in real time where required. Communicate with call administration and the branch throughout the day where required. Must be able to embrace new technologies and adapt to change. Skills, Knowledge & Experience : Experience gained in desk top support involving software Good experience gained in the repair of hardware and peripherals eg personal computers , laptops , tablets , printers etc Good experience gained fixing software problems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Driving licence
