The successful BI Pre Sales Consultant will have the chance to join our award-winning Microsoft Gold Partner consultancy. The BI and Analytics Pre-Sales Consultant will work with the IMGROUP Client Engagement and Business Solutions teams in positioning BI and Analytical technologies and solutions to prospective and existing clients. While not limited to Microsoft technologies, there will be a focus on the Microsoft BI products and services. This role will also involve working together with IMGROUP and client project teams in the delivery of proof of concept and pilot solutions. Responsibilities • Defining and building solution and sector focused demonstrators utilising the Microsoft BI stack • Delivering demonstrations to existing clients and prospects • Delivering impactful proof of concepts and pilot solutions for clients • Maintaining current knowledge of the Microsoft BI/Analytics offering and the wider market • Contributing to proposals and tender responses • Contributing to relevant external communities including speaking at events and conferences • Supporting the close of new business for IMGROUP to the value of circa £2m per year Experience This role requires experience of positioning and demonstrating BI and Analytical solutions in a variety of corporate environments over a number of years. They will be able to operate with confidence in the BI arena. It requires someone who understands how businesses work and how BI solutions can improve performance. In particular: • Pre-sales experience (whether dedicated or alongside delivery) of BI and Analytical solutions • Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders, both within business and IT functions • Practical delivery experience of Microsoft BI solutions • Proposal development and writing • Preference will be given to candidates with sector experience including: Financial Services, Media, Retail and Professional Services • Operating with significant autonomy and latitude in meeting objectives and enacting change • Focus on realising the benefits of corporate technology investments • A proven ability to develop clear understandings of clients’ strategic needs and the ability to articulate them for delivery teams • Experience of working collaboratively with Microsoft Qualifications and Skills • Microsoft Certified Professional – premium level preferred, i.e. MCITP, MCDBA, MCSD • Essential experience of the following specific technologies: • Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016: o Analysis Services o Reporting Services o Master Data Services o Data Quality Services o Integration Services • Microsoft Power BI • Experience in the following is also desirable, but not essential: o Microsoft SharePoint o Microsoft Datazen o Microsoft Cortana Analytics Suite (specifically the services that comprise this including Machine Learning, HDInsight etc.) o Other Analytical and Reporting tools, e.g. Qlikview, Tableau, Pentaho etc. Please apply today
