Lead Architect Developer

Lead Developer Welwyn Garden City Retail Company Initial 6 month contract *** If successful after the interview stage this role will require an offline coding test to be completed *** My Client a leading Retail Company and general merchandise retailer is recruiting for a Lead Developer to join their team based in Welwyn Garden City. Working as the Senior Lead Developer within the commercial planning team the successful candidate will be Leading the evolution of the team's software engineering practices and architecture, recommending changes in development, maintenance and system standards., understanding the various products and services in the team and spending time performing code reviews, suggesting best practice improvements and confidently and competently impart knowledge to developers and other team members to improve the technical capability of the team. The team has responsibility for creating and maintaining two enterprise services and own a number of existing and in development products which support the commercial team in selecting and planning products and then the Space, Range and Display of these to stores. Essential Skills: * Experience in 3 or more languages such as: Java, C#, Scala, Clojure, Python, Groovy, etc * Proactive attitude to consistently seeking out new languages and tools that will help to improve working practices across multiple teams. * Full stack development knowledge, with direct experience in design and development of significant and complex web based APIs and Products. * Experience of setting up Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines * Experience of developing and deploying solutions for a cloud platform such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure. * Familiar with CAP theorem and experience in using No-SQL technologies such as MongoDB, CouchBase, Cassandra * Experience of being an architect across multiple teams. Desirable: * Experience in the Retail Sector
