Job Description

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (08:00 - 16:30)

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

About the role

This role sits at the heart of our IT function, acting as the senior technical escalation point while also supporting future focused projects across the business. You'll take ownership of complex technical issues, help modernise our infrastructure, and remove day to day operational pressure from the System Administrator, enabling greater focus on security driven initiatives.

You'll remain close enough to the frontline to support the team when needed, while focusing your time on higher value engineering, platform improvement, and project delivery.

What you'll be doing
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, server, and network issues.
  • Managing and improving our core IT estate, including virtualised environments.
  • Supporting device and user management through Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365.
  • Maintaining robust backup and recovery using Veeam.
  • Contributing to security hardening, patching, and system resilience activities.
  • Supporting and delivering future IT projects and technology upgrades.
  • Sharing knowledge and providing technical guidance across the IT support team.
Who we're looking for

This role is suited to an experienced infrastructure focused IT professional who enjoys variety, responsibility, and practical problem solving.

  • Experienced at a level 3 or senior IT support role.
  • Recognised IT qualification or certification (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, VMware) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory.
  • Hands on experience with endpoint management tools, ideally Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper V.
  • Proven experience with backup and recovery solutions, ideally Veeam.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and server services.
  • Comfortable supporting colleagues hands on when required, without being purely desk side focused.
  • Ability to travel to site.
What you'll get

We'll provide you with a supportive and engaging environment where you can grow your skills and further your career. We'll work with you to develop your personal professional development plan, tailored to your goals and ambitions.

In addition, you'll get the following benefits:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to purchase more holiday days after your first year.
  • Westfield Health Insurance
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Company pension
  • Free onsite parking
  • Additional shift bonus (where applicable)
  • Family Ironbridge Pass
