We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our growing IT team supporting schools across an Academy Trust based in and around Uttoxeter.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students across multiple school sites, acting as an escalation point for First Line Support and helping to maintain reliable, secure and effective IT services.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced school IT technician looking to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
Act as an escalation point for incidents and service requests passed from First Line Support.
Diagnose and resolve issues relating to Windows devices, Microsoft 365, user accounts, printing, network connectivity and educational software.

Manage Microsoft Entra ID user accounts and security groups.
Support Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding staff through joiner, mover and leaver processes.
Support Microsoft Intune device management activities.
Assist with implementation of security and compliance policies.
Networking Support
Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues.
Support switches, wireless access points, DHCP, DNS and VLAN configurations under guidance from senior engineers.
Assist with network documentation and monitoring.
Liaise with third-party suppliers where appropriate.
Education Technology Support
Support Management Information Systems (MIS) and associated educational software.
Provide support during examination periods and key school events.
Maintain classroom and curriculum technology.
Support safeguarding, filtering and monitoring solutions in accordance with Trust policies.
Team Working
Work collaboratively with colleagues across all Trust schools.
Provide excellent customer service to teaching and support staff.
Contribute to continuous improvement of IT services.
Share knowledge and best practice with other members of the IT team.

Essential Requirements
Experience
Previous experience working within a school, academy trust or educational environment.
Minimum two years' experience in an IT support role.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.

About the role As Business Development Partner you will identify and secure major grant funding opportunities of over £100,000, in accordance with the UK Fundraising Code of Practice, from corporate trusts and foundations. Coordinate the end-to-end tender and bid process for RLO Group, ensuring the use of a project-management methodology. Act as administrator for contractual documentation for key stakeholders. Maintain contract and service tracker, monitor contract lifecycles and identify risks, reporting them to the Business Development Manager and senior management as required. Main duties Explore options to secure major grant funding opportunities, working across the Real Life Options Group to identify projects and service concepts. Research and identify potential strategic corporate partnerships to support projects and secure major funding opportunities. Coordinate and implement project plans to ensure effective management of all tenders, bids and grant funding submissions. Write, edit and proof-read the information for tender submission. Write and update the library of information used to support future tenders. Monitor contract lifecycles, ensuring all Real Life Options Group contracted services are risk assessed, reviewed and re-tender exercises planned with operational and business support teams. Compile and submit tender and contract management information for the Business Development Manager, senior management and the senior leadership team as requested. Collaborate with team members and the wider group in support of ad-hoc projects to support business needs. Skills, knowledge and experience Significant experience in submitting successful large grant funding bids for projects and/or services. Have attained or be willing to undertake PRINCE2 (or other project management) training qualification. Proven experience of the public procurement tender/bid process. Knowledge of the health and social care sector an advantage. Excellent tender writing and communication skills. Good eye for detail and comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Ambitious, self-motivated and driven, personable, able to work alone and as part of a team. Receptive to ideas and feedback. Strong people and commercial skills. The ability to prioritise workloads and meet targets. IT proficient. Ability to effectively build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
