Providing technical support during the coordination meetings with Nations/OCCAR and A400M Program to support the customer requirements. Providing active support during the migration plans for new software versions (migration plan, non regression tests, testing of the new functionalities, testing fixed bugs, etc). Providing the list of new requirements identified during training, safety investigations, gaps process, etc. Performing Reference Data audits and uploading information to MDS. This includes new OMP versions, new aircrafts, new Approved Configurations of the RAF A400M or MRO event. Responding to Q Pulse investigations and incidents as required. Liaising and coordinating with the Part M, P145 and CAMO to ensure the issues which cause an airworthiness impact are managed correctly. Working closely with the GSD team to ensure the resolution of the queries are implemented as required. About you: You have some IT system capabilities (Excel, Access, XML, SQL, PL/SQL, etc). We are looking for a Principal Stress Engineer to work on our Airbus Defence & Space site in Stevenage. As a Principal Stress Engineer you will be joining a department of approx. 30 and working with project teams of 5-10 people. Mainly working on Telecoms satellites. This role comes with a strong career path, progressing to Deputy Lead / Lead roles. You will be responsible for independently completing all mechanical analysis activities and test campaigns to demonstrate achievement of prescribed strength and stiffness against requirements in the allocated time. Also responsible for maintaining a high degree of technical competency in their specialized field within an engineering group. Task & accountabilities: Your main tasks and responsibilities will include: To identify all strength and stiffness requirements and ensure that they are valid. To perform all structural analysis necessary to ensure that all strength and stiffness requirements are met with a minimum mass design. To ensure that the design incorporates all features necessary to meet the strength and stiffness requirements. To provide a detailed definition of all structural testing required to verify that the strength and stiffness requirements are met. To monitor these tests and issue a test assessment report that demonstrates that requirements have been met and that the pre-test analysis was of sufficient accuracy. Write clear and concise strength summary reports demonstrating adequate strength margins for all significant possible modes of failure. Write other associated analysis documentation. Job Description The End-to-end Systems team (approx. 10) is responsible for delivering technical aspects of studies and projects within Earth Observation and Science (EOS) and supporting activities in Telecoms and Navigation missions; undertaking R&D activities and the development of advanced products including Earth Observation (EO) ground segment elements and navigation user equipment. Role Description Within the End-to-end Systems organisation, the Space Systems Solution Architect acts as the lead for defining architectural solutions to meet end-to-end system needs. You will be responsible for generating optimise bespoke solutions concepts based on a detailed understanding of existing and emerging technologies. In addition, as the Solutions Architect, you will be required to support systems engineers in: requirements capture; architecture definition and system design; performance analysis. The Solutions Architect is the owner of the solution within the end-to-end system scope. Main Responsibilities Capture stakeholder needs and develop appropriate requirement sets including user, system and sub-system requirements. Lead system architecture definition and sub-system design definition and capture outputs in design models and documentation. Support the performance of analysis and trade-offs within the scope of engineering decision making by providing expert input. Generate technical documentation in support of project deliveries and input for bids and proposals. Interact with other engineers and subject matter experts. Lead peer reviews of solution designs and related artefacts. Adhere to high-quality system engineering principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget. Experience End-to-end Systems or system-of-systems architecture and systems engineering in space or defence, ideally across the entire engineering lifecycle. Ground Segment engineering and operation GNSS systems and signals Security and secure systems Working within an environment controlled strictly through an established Quality system Technical Knowledge Knowledge of Satellite systems (ground, space and user) for EO and Navigation including knowledge of underlying existing and emerging technologies Engineering life cycles for ground and space segment Quality standards Qualification A degree in Electrical, Electronic engineering, mathematics or physics or similar experience Desirable: GNSS systems and signals, SAR systems, satellite ground systems, security aspects of space systems. Additional Requirements You will be expected to work with classified material in some cases. Occasional / infrequent travel to support project activities and milestone is expected.
