An opportunity exists for aCo-locationOperations (ColoOPs) engineer to joinourLow Latency TradingColoOps Infrastructure Technology teambased inLondon, reportingintothe Dublin Infrastructure Technology team.As part of a multi-skilledteam,you will beprimarilyresponsible for the day to day running of our Colocation sitesinLondonandmainland Europe.Experience working inFinancialtrading exchange specific Data Centres is necessary for this role.Flexibility isrequiredfor the purposes of both travel and collaborating with core trading business hours.You will alsobe requiredto traveltoour Dublin office, if not basedin Dublin,from time to timeto buildupyourknowledge of the Susquehannalow latency Tradinginfrastructure and requirements for our Colo buildouts.
What you can expect
- As part of ourColoOPS team, yourmain focuswill be onworking ontheday-to-dayonsiteoperationsand optimisations in our trading venues.
- ThesuccessfulEngineer will help growand optimiseSusquehanna'stradingfootprint and Data Centre presenceinLondonand mainland Europe.You will help implementthefit out and management of new data Centre infrastructures as well as make improvements and upgrades to the current environmentbased on Susquehanna's low latency trading R&D driven enhancements coming from Dublin.
- Support the day Colo team on site and plan and prepare for the next Colo visit, resolving issues, closing out onJIRAs'and supporting planned maintenance.
- You will followColoOps installation processes and procedures to ensure that all Racking & Cablingof hardware within cabinets is completed to a high standard.
- Respond to allrelevant trading colocationrelated issues and perform regular scheduled out of hour's maintenance window activities.
- Receipt, tracking and deployment of server and network hardware.
- Documentation of Colo infrastructure.
- Follow and implement processes and procedures that improve stability,performanceand availability
- Liaise with Dublin Low Latency Trading R&D(EMO)team to deliver solutions from our Dublin lab to ourproductiontradingcolos.
- As aColoOps teammemberyou willbe responsible forensuring projects and plans are delivered to agreed scope,milestonesand budgets
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across all departments within Susquehanna.
- Plannedtravel tootherEuropean Data Centre locations to aid in capacity expansionand new Tradingcoloprojects.
- OnCallis expected as part of the role.
What we're looking for
- Technical Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience working within a high availability & high security Data Centre environment
- Data Centre, Network and Server installation and support in troubleshooting and break-fix experience
- Experience following andmaintainingData Centre industry best practices
- Cable management to an extremely high standard, specific to low latency trading.
- Measurement of optic fibres using Optical measurement tools
- StrongAttention to detail
- Data Centre documentation and asset tracking
- Arista,Ciscoor equivalent network hardware experience
- Knowledge of power distribution systems
- Some knowledge of hardware monitoring systems would beadvantageous
- Ability to plan and complete tasks with minimal direction
- Ability to work at heights and lift server & network hardware regularly
- Familiarity with Linux to advanced user or basic administrator level
- Familiarity with Windows Server2016/2019/2022to advanced user or basic administrator level
- Ability to perform basic port configuration on switches
- A validpassport isrequiredfor the purpose of travel withinthe EU.
