Job Description

Biffa is currently on the hunt for an MI Analyst to support the Head of MI to deliver appropriate Management Information. Administrate the MI team mailbox, responding appropriately. Work with internal departments to obtain new information into BI systems when required. To work within the MI department to run, develop and distribute internal reports on the performance and operation of the business, staff and customers. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - Production and delivery of monthly MI reporting packs, including Customer MI, Board reporting, dashboard and scorecard KPIs. Respond to related and follow-up queries and requests for information from operational staff, management and clients. - Develop new, and amend existing MI reporting in accordance with business requirements. Work closely with appropriate areas of the business to understand, document and deliver their requirements. - Respond to ad-hoc report requests and data enquiries from all areas of the business. - Respond to queries in the MI mail box and be a primary source of contact for information. Monitor, log and record mailbox performance, proactively dealing with adverse volumes and escalating performance risks and issues to the team and manager. - Leading on small projects in relation to information products e.g. sourcing specific information missing from the data warehouse or developing a contained set of reports. Work with colleagues/clients to discuss requirements, draft plans, manage stakeholder expectations and ensure delivery against these plans. - Ensure quality and integrity of data in the business Intelligence systems is fit for purpose to ensure company reports are accurate. - Support data processing and analysis of data for acquisitions NATURE AND SCOPE - managing mailbox requests and production of periodic and monthly reports - Ad hoc project work - Acquisitions - Periodically review (daily) the information entered on the system to ascertain whether any information is missing - Provision of monthly and ad hoc MI reports to finance and operations within agreed timescales - Planning up to 6 weeks in advance however the Head of MI checks process fortnightly - A high level of attention to detail required - A detailed of MI and IT systems, including dependencies - Strong analytical skills including technical manipulation, data modelling and computer coding - Serves as a technical resource - Basic project management, stakeholder management, workload and time management - Educated to Undergraduate Degree level - A semi-autonomous role, however required to meet reporting deadlines - Meeting reporting deadlines - A degree of difficulty, complexity and responsibility - Operates in a complex computer environment - Exercises judgement and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly - Serves a broad range of internal stakeholders up to MD level - May interact with senior external people for the purposes of acquisition work ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE - Ability to pass a pure logic test at the interview stage. - Good mathematical understanding - Good working knowledge of excel and business intelligence tools - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Previous experience in an analytical role - High level of Attentiveness to detail required - Good organisational skills - Strong analytical skillsAbout Biffa: About Biffa: Here at Biffa, we have a friendly, open, honest culture that's based on mutual trust and respect.
