We provide assessment of existing assets and help in the design of new assets and planning for future durability. Our Subject Matter Experts are recognised across Jacobs for their knowledge in construction materials and corrosion control. You will work closely with colleagues in the Durability & Materials team in delivering services and growing the Strategic Consulting business, including preparing proposals and delivering presentations. This is an opportunity to be based in our London head office in the Cottons Centre or in our Reading office in Winnersh (but other UK locations will be considered). We are a small dynamic team, and you will need to be flexible about working across the UK or overseas on short assignments.. Here's What You'll Need: Degree qualified in relevant engineering (Civil/ Chemical) and/or Materials discipline Direct experience in consultancy work and project delivery in the construction industry Knowledge and experience of concrete and other construction materials in the following key areas: key principles and best practice for new-built construction and repair applications deterioration mechanisms and associated models, including use of standard software assessment and specification using UK/EU codes and standard national guidance investigation and assessment of deterioration and defects, visually and by testing sustainability, climate resilience, carbon management, innovation Collaborative approach internally and externally, with a strong teamwork ethic, excellent communication and presentation/report-writing skills and ability to build strong client connections Ability to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines, with a high level of personal accountability.
