UKIC DV Cleared Java Developer | Outside IR35
We are working with a specialist consultancy supporting highly sensitive national security programmes. They are looking for a Java Developer with active UKIC clearance to join a secure programme delivering critical software capabilities within the UK intelligence environment.
This role would suit a developer who is comfortable operating in secure, mission-critical environments and enjoys working on complex Back End systems that underpin high-impact government services.
The RoleYou will join an established engineering team responsible for building and maintaining secure Back End services. Working in an agile environment, you will contribute to the design, development and improvement of scalable Java-based systems that support complex operational requirements.
The work will involve collaborating with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver robust, secure and well-tested solutions within a highly regulated environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain Back End services using Java
Contribute to the development of scalable and secure microservices
Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
Work closely with architects and technical leads on system design
Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of engineering practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within an agile delivery environment
Active UKIC clearance
Strong commercial experience developing in Java
Experience building Back End or microservice-based systems
Understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems
Experience working within agile delivery environments
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
Knowledge of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
Experience with cloud environments such as AWS
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Previous experience working within secure or classified environments
Contract: Contract - 6 months rolling
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Rate: £600
Location: Onsite in a secure UK government environment
