Lead Architect - SC Cleared, Public Sector/Government, Defence, 12 months, Hybrid £900 per day

Our client within the Public Sector is seeking an experienced SC cleared Lead Architect to drive high- and low-level designs for the Shared Layer 3 project. Responsibilities include creating architecture documentation, providing technical leadership, and owning decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead domain architecture for Shared Layer 3, ensuring design integrity and security-by-design.

Translate business and risk requirements into secure IT/OT architectures.

Develop security artefacts (threat models, blueprints) aligned with standards.

Support architecture governance and risk assessments.

Mentor less experienced architects and engineers.

Collaborate across teams to ensure architectural alignment and risk mitigation.

Conduct design reviews and architecture assessments.

Influence design decisions with expert risk insights.

Contribute to evolving the Security Architecture Framework.

Stay current on cyber threats and security technologies.

Deliverables:

End-to-end architecture design (high and low level).

Technical leadership ensuring objectives are met.

Collaboration with project teams and third parties for delivery.

Essential Skills:

IT expertise: Virtualisation, management, monitoring, and infrastructure.

OT exposure.

Experience with cross-domain solutions.

Proven delivery of multimillion-pound projects.

Large-scale deployment of virtualisation, private clouds, and modern infrastructure.
