A Network Engineer is required to provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for satellite communication networks, including monitoring systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and assisting with VSAT deployment to ensure reliable network performance while working with internal teams, customers, and satellite providers.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to go through security clearance checks for this position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and resolve satellite network incidents.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for satellite and IP networks.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and identify root causes.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, and satellite providers.
• Configure and test VSAT terminals and network equipment.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support.
• Produce technical and incident reports.
• Support VSAT installation and commissioning globally.
  
  

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Experience in a NOC/NMC or technical support environment.
• Solid knowledge of IP networking (routing, switching, WAN/LAN, firewalls).
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VSAT/satellite systems.
• Knowledge of satellite communications (VSAT, RF, GEO/LEO).
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• Ability to document incidents and technical procedures clearly.
• Background in telecommunications or electronics (desirable).
• Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent experience (desirable).
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and AWS (desirable).
• Familiarity with automation or scripting (desirable).

LOCATION:

This role is office based in Hereford - Commutable from nearby locations such as Tewkesbury, Gloucester and Worcester.
