We are looking for an experienced Dental Solution Architect to design and deliver secure, resilient dental technology platforms within complex and distributed operational environments.

This role focuses on architecting clinical and operational dental systems capable of functioning in low-connectivity or disconnected environments, while meeting strict security and compliance requirements. You will work closely with clinical, engineering, and programme stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture of dental IT platforms operating across distributed or disconnected environments
  • Design secure and resilient solutions covering dental practice management systems, imaging platforms, and clinical record systems
  • Define offline-first and edge architecture patterns, including local data storage, synchronisation mechanisms, and store-and-forward models
  • Design data synchronisation strategies to enable secure exchange and integration with central healthcare platforms
  • Produce architectural artefacts including solution designs, integration models, security frameworks, and data flows
  • Provide architectural leadership across development and testing phases, ensuring alignment with operational and security requirements
  • Evaluate technologies and vendors to ensure suitability for regulated and constrained environments
  • Support governance, assurance, and technical review processes throughout the programme life cycle

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a Solution Architect or Senior Technical Architect within healthcare or clinical systems
  • Strong experience working with dental and clinical technology platforms, including Dental Practice Management Systems (PMS), Electronic Health Records (EHR) or clinical record systems
  • Experience with dental imaging systems using standards such as DICOM
  • Experience with clinical workflow platforms and patient record management systems
  • Demonstrated experience designing offline or low-bandwidth architectures
  • Experience with edge deployments and distributed system architectures
  • Experience designing data synchronisation and replication strategies across distributed environments
  • Strong knowledge of secure system architecture within regulated environments
  • Experience designing modern cloud, hybrid, or edge architectures
  • Strong understanding of clinical data models, imaging data, and healthcare integration patterns
  • Ability to communicate complex technical designs clearly to both technical and clinical stakeholders

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working within government, defence, or regulated healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with NHS or UK healthcare technology ecosystems
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, and DICOM
  • Experience with security architecture frameworks including Zero Trust, identity federation, and encryption
  • Exposure to mobile or deployable healthcare platforms
