CNC Setter/Programmer

We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Setter Programmer to join a reputable precision engineering company based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a stable day-shift role, competitive hourly rates, and the chance to work with modern 5-axis HAAS machines. Location: Close to Basildon, Essex

Rate: £23 - £25 per hour (DOE)

Shift: Day Shift - Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Overtime: Available

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering company in Basildon. This is a hands-on role involving offline and on-machine programming, setting, and operation of CNC milling machines, producing high-quality, tight-tolerance components.

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines
• Working primarily with HAAS 5-axis machines
• Creating, editing, and proving programs at the machine
• Selecting and setting tooling, fixtures, and work offsets
• Producing components to precise engineering drawings and specifications
• Using measuring equipment to ensure quality and accuracy
• Troubleshooting and optimising programs to improve efficiency
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter Programmer
• Strong background in 3-axis and 5-axis machining (5-axis preferred)
• Experience with Siemens control systems
• Ability to program, set, and operate independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Experience working to tight tolerances

• Competitive hourly rate: £23 - £25 per hour
