About the Role

We are seeking a Lead AI Architect to design and deliver cutting-edge AI, ML and Generative AI solutions within large, complex organisations in the insurance sector. This role sits at the forefront of AI-driven transformation, shaping architecture strategies, enabling scalable AI platforms and integrating advanced machine learning capabilities into mission-critical systems.

This position is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong architectural leadership. You will work across conceptual, logical and physical AI architectures, defining standards, selecting technologies and ensuring models and platforms are secure, scalable and production-ready.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, data scientists and business leaders while playing a critical role in driving technical decision-making, ensuring architectural quality and embedding AI capabilities that align to organisational strategy and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML/GenAI architectural design across major insurance transformation programmes
• Translate strategic objectives into AI architecture roadmaps, operating models and solution designs
• Design scalable AI architectures integrating with cloud and insurance-specific systems
• Select and recommend appropriate cloud, open-source and third-party AI technologies
• Support delivery of pilot and production AI use cases alongside data scientists and engineers
• Champion responsible and ethical AI practices, ensuring regulatory compliance

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in AI architecture within complex enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of AI/ML/GenAI concepts, model lifecycle design and enterprise deployment patterns
• Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and LLM toolkits
• Strong grounding in conceptual and logical architectural design, including integration and security considerations
