I'm working with a high-growth, product-led scale-up who are rebuilding their entire data layer in-house after moving away from their legacy systems and processes.

They are in need of a hands-on Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and own a clean PostgreSQL-based backend data platform that powers the next phase of their growth.

Must-Have

• PostgreSQL (design, modelling, optimisation)
• SQL and relational database engineering
• Building backend data services (APIs, views, pipelines, ETL/ELT)
• Data integration with operational systems
• ADF or similar orchestration tools
• Migrating/decommissioning legacy data platforms

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in scale-ups or lean engineering teams
• Exposure to financial services
• Understanding of how front-end teams consume data
• Reverse-engineering EUC processes (spreadsheets, scripts, ad-hoc logic)

Contract Details

• £500-£525 per day
• Outside IR35
• 12-month initial engagement
• Hybrid: roughly 4 days per month in the office (rest remote)
