A globally renowned organisation is seeking an AI Engineer to join a forward-looking innovation function focused on rapid experimentation, applied artificial intelligence and real-world delivery. This role offers the opportunity to design, build and demonstrate AI solutions that address complex business challenges across multiple domains.

The position is well suited to a hands-on engineer who enjoys fast-paced environments, collaborative problem-solving and working across the full lifecycle from concept through to demonstrable outcomes.

Responsibilities for the AI Engineer:

• Design and deliver AI-powered proof-of-concept solutions, MVPs and prototype demonstrations within short innovation cycles
• Lead technical delivery during workshops, discovery sessions and innovation sprints
• Build and deploy machine learning and generative AI solutions using large and small language models plus vision and image-based models
• Develop lightweight APIs within serverless or PaaS environments to support rapid integration and demonstrations
• Work across varied business contexts, quickly understanding requirements and adapting AI approaches accordingly
• Evaluate emerging AI tools frameworks methodologies plus create reusable components to accelerate future delivery
• Engage directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings and explain technical outcomes clearly
• Apply security, data protection and AI safety principles across all delivered solutions

Essential Skills for the AI Engineer:

• Strong experience with Python plus JavaScript
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools
• Experience building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Flask or Django
• Strong SQL capability including PostgreSQL or MySQL plus experience with vector databases
• Experience working with microservices or serverless architectures
• Practical exposure to machine learning plus generative AI models including LLMs SLMs vision models
• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as RAG LangChain LlamaIndex plus agentic frameworks
• Hands-on cloud experience within Azure or AWS plus CI/CD tooling and Git

Desirable Skills for the AI Engineer:

• Experience using Pandas NumPy or PyTorch
• Exposure to NodeJS VueJS or equivalent frontend technologies
